Sashay, Shante

I was wondering when RuPaul was going to get her own show! It's long overdue, but
entertainer RuPaul landed her own show on the Logo network called "RuPaul's Drag Race."

On the show, 9 top drag queens from around the country will compete to be chosen as the America's Next Drag Queen Superstar, it's like America's Next Top Model (don't ever say that to RuPaul or she'll shove her platforms up your ass) but with way better make up. Each week, 1 queen will be voted off by RuPaul, author Merle Ginsburg and Project Runway star Santino Rice. SANTINO!!! Celebrity guest judges include Michelle Williams of Destiny's Child, designer Bob Mackie, Pussycat Dolls creator Robin Antin, model Jenny Shimizu, Tori Spelling and husband Dean McDermott.

As part of promotion for the show, RuPaul did a press conference and spoke about her "To Wong Foo Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar," co-star Patrick Swayze, whom she hasn't spoken with since Patrick's cancer diagnosis:

"He is truly generous and a real sweetheart." "A lot of the time when straight men come around the drag thing, they have to assert their masculinity. They act a peculiar way. He is very secure in who he is, understands the act of show business and performing. He was really generous and lovely. He did a really good job, too."

She goes on to say, "If you see the movie, he sold it. Not on how he looked, but on his body. He really nailed it."

When asked about similarities between her show and Tyra Bank's America's Next Top Model, Rupaul said:

"Tyra learned everything from me."

Burnnnn. RuPaul is the original Tyra, we all know that.

RuPaul's Drag Race premieres Monday, February 2nd on Logo and LogoOnline.
